About Jackpot Hardware Collection
Jackpot Hardware Collection started with a simple observation, useful equipment was being thrown away.
Lighting, AV equipment, electronics, all destined for landfill despite having plenty of life left in them. We saw an opportunity to change that.
Our mission is straightforward. We collect discarded hardware from schools, businesses and institutions, test everything, and give it a second life, either by rehoming it to people who need it, or by putting it back into active use where it makes sense.
Collection is always free. We make our money by reselling what we recover, which means institutions we work with pay nothing to have their unwanted equipment responsibly removed.
We believe in embedded energy.
Every fixture that gets reused is a fixture that doesn't need to be manufactured. Every item that avoids landfill is an item that doesn't need to be smelted down. That's two energy costs saved simultaneously, not just one.
Fluorescent lighting is a good example. In lightly used spaces like utility cupboards, storage areas and covered understairs spaces, a reclaimed fluorescent fixture running five minutes a month will outlast most modern alternatives, and at a fraction of the environmental cost of producing something new.

I started Jackpot Hardware Collection because I couldn't stand watching working equipment get thrown away. Lighting, AV gear, electronics, all of it discarded, despite working perfectly.
Our mission is simple:
Collect what others discard, test it, and find it a better home. Every item we rehome is one less thing that needed to be made, and one less thing that needed to be destroyed.
